Remembering Mrs. Schlie

On a beautiful Friday morning, students and staff gathered to plant a tree in memory and in thanksgiving for the life of Mrs. Linda Schlie, beloved teacher and servant at WLS for many years. Mrs. Schlie lost her earthly battle with cancer, but she received the crown of eternal life early in 2014. Just as a tree is firmly rooted in the ground, Mrs. Schlie was firmly rooted in God’s Word. Her desire was that all children at WLS would clearly and daily hear the Gospel of Jesus, knowing that “by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Three of Mrs. Schlie’s sons were able to join the group as together all sang “Christ be my Leader”, one of Mrs. Schlie’s favorite hymns. To God alone belongs the glory.
